Трагедия произошла в июле 2024 года. Щербаков, направляясь пешком домой после участия в СВО, случайно оказался в Белоярском. Ночью он проник на веранду дома Неживых с целью кражи. Испугавшись, что пенсионерка вызовет полицию, он забил ее поленом и скрылся с места преступления, забрав деньги и ценности. Пострадавшая скончалась в больнице спустя два месяца.

The tragedy occurred in July 2024. Shcherbakov, heading home on foot after participating in the so-called special military operation (SMO), accidentally ended up in Beloyarsky. At night, he broke into the veranda of the Nezhivy family’s house with the intention of stealing. Fearing that the elderly woman would call the police, he bludgeoned her with a log and fled the scene, taking money and valuables. The victim died in the hospital two months later.
