После словесной перепалки осуждённый избил куратора, сопровождая побои оскорблениями. Сослуживец ветерана попытался вмешаться, но получил угрозы убийством. Позже военные назначили осуждённому "встречу", в ходе которого он плюнул ветерану в лицо, начал пинать автомобиль, а при попытке его задержать ударил одного из сослуживцев молотком и ножом. Несмотря на подачу инцидента как нападения на "героев", характер "встречи" и действия сторон указывают на типичную разборку, а не попытку разрешения конфликта в правовом поле.
